Santorini Wine Roads
Winery hopping on the volcanic Wine Roads — deeper than a single tasting stop.
The Wine Roads route links several Santorini wineries across the island's vineyard belt — moderate activity with transfers and short walks at each estate.
Multiple stops show different producers and wine styles within assyrtiko-led volcanic viticulture.
Moderate grading reflects getting in and out of venues and short vineyard paths.
Afternoon timing leaves morning free for volcano or Oia if your ship allows two activities.

Getting there from the cruise port
Santorini cruise ships typically anchor in the caldera rather than berth alongside a town pier. Most passengers reach shore by tender — commonly to the Old Port (Skala) beneath Fira, though some operators and larger ship deployments use Athinios commercial port with coach transfers to designated meeting points instead. Arrangements vary by ship and tour, so confirm your exact pickup and drop-off from your booking confirmation before sailing day, not from a generic port map. From the Old Port, the cable car to cliff-top Fira is the usual option, but on multi-ship days the queue can consume a meaningful slice of a short call. A steep walking path of roughly 600 steps also links the port to Fira; it is exposed, often hot in summer, and not suitable for all passengers. Donkeys have a long history on this route but are not a recommended modern choice given welfare concerns, crowding and better alternatives — treat them as historic context only. Excursions may meet at the Old Port, Athinios, Fira or other confirmed points depending on the product. Plan every day backwards from your ship's stated all-aboard time, not its published departure, and build in tender and transfer buffer on busy days.
